"At Boyds"
The cabins in the clearings look up the hills to see,
in perfect order standing, the future Christmas Trees.
With charm beyond description ancient cabins all renewed,
a place for peace, tranquility, a soothing interlude.
A rocking chair upon the porch becomes a favored place
to sit and smell the honeysuckle 'cross the cabin's face.
Come hummingbirds arriving in a sudden roar of wings
long beaks invade the blossoms for the nectar they do bring.
A fallen log across a stream provides a place to play
for chipmunks who appear quite near then quickly run away.
And high in trees the whole day long
the birds will bless you with their song.
When too soon your visit ends, it's time to go away
you'll pray , I know, as I do to return another day.
